Jalingo – The mother of the deputy governor of Taraba state, Haruna Manu, Hauwa-Belli Manuhas been freed by her abductors, reports Thisday
The elderly woman was taken away by gunmen from the family home of the deputy governor at about 9pm on Monday.
She was released by her abductors on Tuesday.
She entered her residence unaccompanied at about 11.40p.m. to the pleasant surprise of her family members who had been thrown into serious grief by her abduction.
Joseph Kwaji, the police public relations officer in the state, who confirmed her release, said the elderly woman was released due to the pressure mounted by the state police command.
